It’s Monday!

It must be Monday.

While sitting on my bed, using my laptop, I look up and see a chipmunk in the hallway just looking at me as if it was thinking, what are YOU doing here? That was before it jumped into a hole in the wall that was for the “redneck central vacuum” that the previous owners put in. Yeah, don’t ask. There are a lot of things around here that we just scratch our heads wondering, what the heck were they thinking?

This afternoon, I made my way to visit my surgeon. I still find it hysterical that I had to arrive early to fill out all of the “New Patient Information” since I ALREADY had surgery! It’s a riot, I tell you! Anyway… she ripped off the surgical tape with no regard to how it might hurt gently pulled off the surgical tape and examined my incisions. “You are healing up beautifully,” she tells me. On Wednesday, it will be two weeks post-op, at that point I can start to resume my normal activities within limits. Pain is to be my guide (how cliché, right?), if it hurts, don’t do it. Yeah, mmm-hmmmm. I hope that’s how it will go. Apparently, my gall bladder was distended, enlarged, showed signs of infection, had stones, and was swollen. She was surprised that I was never bothered by it. Then again, as I thought about it, I have not been feeling well for about a year, maybe more. I’m wondering how much of that might be from the gall bladder? I had always attributed it to my sinus woes. Now I wonder. And, since I had both of those surgeries within a week of each other, I’ll probably not ever really know. But, damn. I hope I start to feel better all the way around!

This evening, both girls had activities. Ray took Alex to softball practice. I took Phoebe to swim class. I don’t think the kids were in the pool all of five minutes before everyone was being kicked out. A young girl apparently vomited in the pool. Yay. So, the normally 45-minute class was about 5-minutes.

On the bright side, Phoebe spent quite a good time this evening cleaning up her room. I have my Sansa mp3 player as bait. Personally, I hate the darn thing and only ended up using it for its FM tuner. I have an iPhone now and no longer have any “need” of the Sansa (a refurbished Woot special).

I did finish the book I was reading, “Temple of the Winds,” the fourth book in the Seeker of Truth series. I’m now moving on to book five, “Soul of the Fire.”

Yep, it was a Monday. Tomorrow should be a bit quieter.
