My Sweet Girls

December 03, 2007 By: Kini Category: Kids, Misc. Comments Off

Phoebe was sick on Friday (yes, the vomit bug!). Alex got it last night. Phoebe had a headache when she woke up. We kept both of them home from school today.

They both say they feel better, both look very tired.

Guess what they are doing?

Together!

They are cuddled up on the couch watching “The Santa Clause” and being very sweet to each other!!!!

I don’t want to turn away lest it stops and the arguing begins again!

Icy Slop & Parties

December 02, 2007 By: Kini Category: Family Events, Kids, Misc. 1 Comment →

The promise of lots of snow came to us unfulfilled this morning. While, yes, there was some snow, it was icy. We had gotten a lot of icy, freezing rain, and icy snow overnight. All of that made today be very sloppy and slick out on the roads.

Yesterday, we went to visit my sister’s family. My nephew was having his birthday party. This was the first time I had been to their place since they moved in. It happens to be in a neighborhood that we lived in for a while when we were children. On the way home, we drove past the house I had once lived in and marveled at how small a structure it seems now.

My nephew was excited to tell everyone a clever joke that he had heard recently (at school, I believe):

What is the difference between a chuck roast and pea soup?
Everyone can chuck roast, but no one can pee soup! teehee.

This evening, Ray and I venture out to his work Christmas party while the children spend time at Gramma & Grampa’s house. The weather is supposed to include a lot of freezing rain and more slop. Great. One of the few times we go someplace where we dress up, and the weather will make it icky.

Baby, Its COLD Outside

December 01, 2007 By: Kini Category: Misc. Comments Off

And it is only going to get colder. After all, it is only December 1st and our coldest months tend to be January and part of February around these parts.

The local, itty bitty airport is reporting in that it is 23 degrees (F) with a wind chill of 13 (F) at this current moment. Kind of makes you want to curl up on the sofa with the little ones and watch Christmas flicks, doesn’t it? No?

As much as I would love to stay inside today, we have a birthday party to attend. Which means going outside in the cold. Which wouldn’t be all back, except for the wind. And that massive winter storm that is moving our way putting our entire state until a winter warning of one sort or another.

The bright side? If things go as predicted, then we shall have a ton of fresh snow to play in tomorrow. Snow ball fights. Snowmen and Snowladies. Maybe even some Snowbabies! And, we may, pull out the atvs and blow around in the fresh snow. Because, who needs a nice looking, freshly fallen snowed on yard anyhow? Really.

NaBloPoMo ended yesterday. Yippee!!! While, Holidailies begins today. Um, hooray? Routine…just looking for some routine to keep me sane.

More Daily Posting to Come!

November 30, 2007 By: Kini Category: Misc. Comments Off

I have a list of blogs that I visit on a daily basis. Simply, I click on a toolbar folder and select “open all in tabs” then walk away for a moment while half a million pages load. Ok, not really that many, but sometimes it seems that way.

I was visiting Kerflop a while ago and she is advocating her plan of “31 Days of Nothing” to follow the National Blog Posting Month (NaBloPoMo) which was a post a day in November. But, wait for it! She mentioned Holidailies. Another, post a day for a month dealie and I just signed up as a portal. I may regret it, but I think that having to spend a little bit of time to write something everyday (even the lame stuff) was good for me. Something routine. I need more of that.

So, let the daily posting continue! Hopefully, I can come up with good things to write about!
