The girls are in the midst of “Winter Break 2″ from school and fortunate to have the entire week off.
The big news of the day? SNOW!!!!!! Yes, we got some snow last night that has (so far) actually stuck around this morning. Phoebe has been dying to have snow to play in and she’s got some. For now. According to the weather people, we should be getting more and the temperatures are going to stay very cold for a few days. Of course, “very cold” here means around 30-32 degrees (F) which just cracks me up.

We spent the afternoon at the Pacific Science Center. Our main reason for going was to see Harry Potter: The Exhibition. It was really neat. Just the props, ma’am. (Why, yes! That is a brilliant, blue sky above the giant mural!)
Before we left, Alex and I watched a special that had aired on the Biography channel sometime last month that was all about the creatures of Harry Potter. I think it enhanced our experience in going to the exhibit. There were things we looked or and at in ways that we may not have without seeing the special.
Both girls said it was awesome and Phoebe gave it two thumbs up as well. We also spent some time at the Tide Pool and in the Tropical Butterfly House as well as visiting some of the other regular things. Too bad we couldn’t take photos of anything inside the exhibit. It’s completely understandable with the dunderheads that would be using their flash and annoying everyone… as well as that they want people to actually attend it and not just look at the photos.
