About My Website
Kini’s Place is my personal weblog where I write about the things that affect my life, my family, and everything else I feel like. (Me! Me! Me!). It started primarily as a way to keep a diary or journal about the things that happen in our daily/weekly/monthly lives around here.
This website is powered by Wordpress and employs the following plug ins to help make my life easier:
- fArc lists my archives in a much more friendly manner.
- Dofollow disables “no follow” from comments.
- Comment Timeout is currently set to 14 days.
- Akismet because spam comments really suck.
- Commentluv to help spread the linky love.
- Popularity Contest because sometimes you just want to know!
- Sideblog to add little asides which are not enough for a “real” post.
- Twitter Tools to add tweets to my blog or tweet about my blog.
- Subscribe to Comments so you can keep up on really hot discussions.
- Flickr Photo Gallery to easily add your photos to my posts.
About the photographs on this website:
- My photographs are captured primarily with my Canon Digital Rebel XT. Although, occasionally I do grab my husband’s point & shoot (but, I don’t remember what it is… an HP something or other?) and I am finding that I am using my iPhone 3G quite a bit as it takes really nice photos!
- Currently, I use the lame lens that came in the kit when I purchased it. I aspire to someday get a kick-butt lens to shoot greater distances one of the following lenses:
- Canon 50 mm 1.8 II
- Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM (Brand New Christmas 2007. Thank you, honey!)
- Canon EFS 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 (came with the camera)
- Canon EF 35-80mm f/4-5.6 III (came with the film camera!)
- Most of my photos are edited with Photoshop Elements and managed with the iPhoto software also utilizing iPhoto Library Manager since I have multiple libraries, not all of which are on my MacBook Pro, but rather on a separate hard drive even though my dear hubby upgraded my laptop hard drive so I’m not running out of space every other day.
- I would LOVE to get my hands on a scintillating copy of Photoshop CS3 (or even CS2)! Alas, I am broke.
- I would also LOVE also to get one of those image stabilization lenses for my camera, but those are super expensive.
To all my friends and family:If you find a photo on this site of yourself and you would rather
not have it there, please let me know! I will happily remove it for you!
