Theater Camp
Alex has been participating in a theater camp over the last two weeks. Tonight, they concluded with a “Theater Experience” show. The teen group opened the show with a singing and dancing number, “Zero to Hero” from Hercules. They did a fabulous job! The remainder of the evening showcased group numbers from the other age groups (6 year olds, 7-8 year olds, 9-10 year olds and the 11-12 year olds) and many small group “skits.”
Alex did a great job. She is so in love with theater, it is wonderful to see her have some passion for something.
She loves it so much, in fact, that she wants to take the musical theater class at Phoebe’s dance studio. The guy who teaches it is the same one who taught the teen group at the camp. She is even willing to give up the Lego Brickworld with Ray for it. Yes, she had to choose. The recital/show is the same weekend as Brickworld and she chose the theater class! Although, there is a glimmer of hope. While the dates for Brickworld are set, the dates for the recital are not yet as it hinges on the school calendar which hinges on the contract negotiations which are still ongoing at this time. So, it is possible she could do both, this year, but it is probably highly unlikely.
