Wrapping Up
This morning, I went out in search of a few last minute things. The stores were not that busy and inside flowed well. Outside was not too bad except for the morons who like to stalk shoppers for parking spaces and take up entire aisles to do so. Oh, that and the drivers that insist on driving 25 in a 55 zone on clear roads…I figure the snow off past the shoulder of the road must be a huge distraction or something.
Anyhow, now is the time for wrapping up. Wrapping gifts. Wrapping up the tasks. You know, just wrapping it up!
We have decided that tonight, for the first time since I met Ray and started joining him with his family, that we will not be going to his Aunt and Uncle’s house for Christmas Eve. The girls are disappointed as they were looking forward to seeing everyone (mostly the other kids and teens) and we were looking forward to seeing everyone (adults, kids, infants) too. You see, we got a ton of snow over the last several days (almost a week). Today, it RAINED! As well as getting up to near 40 degrees (F) inducing more melting than from the rain alone. As I type this, the temperatures are dropping, the winds have picked up tremendously, and we expect the roads to be pure ice soon. That, and Ray has been working such long hours without a day off in quite some time that the notion of staying home for the evening with the kids and not driving in “death wish” conditions was very appealing.
“Make it so, Number One” and it was indeed so.
Therefore, tonight, we are continuing to wrap things up and Ray is hanging with his girls, something they very much wanted and need.
Have a safe and happy Christmas Eve!
