December Enters Whitely
Overnight we had a bit of snow fall on us during the midst of a “winter storm warning.” I suppose the good news is that it dropped only about half as much snow as they were forecasting.
There were many, MANY, people who were hoping for a snow day for the kids today. Not me! The kids have been home since Wednesday for the Thanksgiving Break. In a few weeks, they will be home for two full weeks for the Christmas Break, which the schools call “Winter Recess” now. The real reason that I was not ready for a snow day yet, is that invariably, we always end up with too many and have to add make up days to the end on the school year in June. No thank you. Why they cannot build in a few more days I do not understand, but that’s a discussion for another time.
This is how it looked outside while we were waiting for the bus to pick Phoebe up:
Of course, she would rather have played in the snow all day!
So, with that, we welcome winter (since we have to) as we welcome December on in (where did November go?)!
