Feeling Old
As a parent, I mean, in regards to Alex.
We are now getting flyers and brochures and the like from driving schools. (She is not eligible to begin driver education until 12.09.2009 … what a birthday gift for Ray!)
We are also getting packets and packages from college preparatory boarding schools. So far there’s been one from Colorado, two from Illinois and one from Indiana.
We’re receiving scholarship information for a variety of scholarships and organizations. Some have been for the college prep schools from above, and a few have been from other organizations geared toward college scholarships.
For now though, I just want Alex to get through eighth grade. That means getting the homework and projects done. At the end, she should hopefully have maintained (or boosted) her GPA AND she’ll have two credits for high school before even starting high school! (Spanish and Algebra are high school credit classes.)

Watching kids transit through life over the years is indeed both heart warming and heart breaking. I would love to be a parent one day. As for now, being a teacher, I just get a glimpse. Have a great wkend!
Yikes. I know I’m not old enough to have a child going to high school next year either! Where did the time go? Oh, we’re not old either, we’re experienced….or something.
