Saturday
This morning, I took Phoebe to her first soccer event on a Saturday, ever. Today was a practice. She has moved up from twice a week (evenings) soccer in the “peewee” league to the three times a week (two evenings and a Saturday morning) “minors” league consisting of kindergarten and first graders.
The air was still chilly when we left, but the sun in the cloudless sky was hot and intense. The kids practiced different skills (much like their first practice this season). One difference so far is that they had them running! Not suicides. Yet. But, rather, they ran from the goal line to the center line and back and forth several times.
Afterwards, Phoebe said she was tired. Too tired to do anything, in fact, or so she said. We drove by a little grassy airport on the way home to see if anything was going on. There wasn’t.
I was glad to see that Ray and Alex had both gotten up at some point while we were gone. Alex had no idea where we were apparently and she hadn’t seen or talked to Ray either. I imagine it must have been kind of strange.
Not a lot happened today after soccer. We did clean up some brush outside that we cut down last weekend, then had dinner. Ray, Alex, and I watched “The Ruins” while Phoebe (thankfully) watched Strawberry Shortcake movies in the other room. We liked the movie, but oh my gosh was it gory in places! (Psst. If you have seen it, it is based on the book by Scott Smith and I understand that there are a lot of differences between the two.)
Tomorrow is another day. Hopefully, everyone will feel well and the weather will be nice like it was today!

Hhhhm. Sounds sorta like my day. Except we did soccer in the pouring rain. Sigh. I love reading about your day, it sounds sort of peaceful. My daughter is getting up these days at noon if I let her, is yours?
