Mall Madness
Yesterday, I decided that I wanted to go to the mall. I had a specific objective though. For quite some time, I had been browsing the net of the various calendar/planner books out there. I saw one, finally, on the Franklin-Covey website, but before I made that final “I want that one” decision, I had to see it and flip through it with my own two hands.
So, we picked up a friend of Alex’s on the way to the mall. They separated from Phoebe and I almost immediately (go figure!). The first stop that I and Phoebe made was to the Franklin-Covey store where I found, flipped through, contemplated, then purchased this planner. Afterwards, a stop by the Starbucks kiosk and we went to the children’s play area where Phoebe romped and jumped and hopped and giggled for about an hour. At that point she sat down next to me and declared that she was done!
I got in touch with the girls and we had lunch at Olga’s then we separated into our groups again. Phoebe and I went by the play area again and saw that our friends were there. We went down and she played with her little friend for a while, then we all went to the pet shop (in a mall?!! I know!!) to look at the puppies. I guess little yippy, “designer mutt” dogs appeal to some, but, I’m sorry (not really), I cannot stand purse dogs. But, anyway…
After our big “shopping” or “hanging at the mall” afternoon, we dropped off Alex’s friend at her house then headed over to team orange softball practice. It was REALLY hot out. It was just really a hitting practice with the pitching machine running and the girls making the required plays when the balls were hit.
A trip to the ice cream place with the cousins and then dropping the cousins off at their house, the girls and I went home. Finally.
We closed the evening down with the current episode of Doctor Who.
