Today did not start off in the best way. It as a cruel lesson in that even if you set your alarm clock, it does you no good if you do not turn it actually ON!

I woke up and after a moment of looking at the ceiling wondered to myself, what time is it? I rolled over and looked at my clock and it was 7:30AM!!! Whoops! (Or, more likely, I jumped up and said CRAP!)

We had needed to LEAVE the house by 7:00 AM to get to a volleyball tournament! So, I got everyone up and most of us started to frantically get dressed and gather the things we needed for the day. It turns out that we cannot leave the house any sooner than 40 minutes from getting up. Ugh.

I called the coach and let her know we were running late. She sounded happy just to know that we were not calling off entirely. As it turns out, there were only five girls there until we got there making a sixth! Nice. The team was well into its first match by the time we got there.

Normally, I leave my alarm turned on all the time, even on days I don’t need to get up. I turned it off on Friday night, and, obviously, neglected to turn it back on.

The girls did alright and the tournament. They started to have a bit of fun together as a team, so hopefully they will do better at the State Tournament in two weeks. Or, at least have a awesomely fun time and make it worthwhile!

After the matches were all over, we stopped in at our cousins’ house. The eldest daughter received her confirmation today and they were having an open house to celebrate. That was a good time, then again, we always have a good time with them!

Sadly, we did not get home until after 9 pm tonight. We’re all tired. I’m going to go to bed now, but first, I need to make sure my alarm is on…
