New Friend?
It is not a person, but rather a little Cardinal that seems to want to join the family.

I first notice this little guy early Monday morning. I kept hearing this noise in the garden window that sounded like something hitting the window. Turns out, he is landing on top of the window, looking in and sometimes pecking at the glass, then he flits away either to the window sill of the attic window directly above the garden window or onto one of the tree branches a few feet away.
Later on in the day, I noticed that he started flying into other windows. But, mostly only the ones with screens! We have a picture window in the front where the top pane is red and that is the pane he hits. The window by the stairs, he’d come over and hang onto the screen with his feet.
This goes on all day long. From the time someone gets up and turns on a light until the lights are all off for bed in the evening. It is a wonder he hasn’t broken his neck yet. The last thing I want is to discover his little lifeless body in the flower bed.
You know, now that I think about it, maybe he isn’t a new little friend, but some wierdo, alien bird-like stalker? Nevertheless, I woner how long he’ll keep it up. We don’t have feeders or anything and we usually don’t see Cardinals. Blue Jays, yes. Robins, by the truckload.
Bizarre.

It almost seems like he wants in. I sure hope he doesn’t hurt himself. He is a beautiful bird. We don’t have that type so far north.

Cardinals AND crocuses. (sp?) I’m jealous. We’ve just got the robins so far…oh, and one or two daffodills. You’ve inspired me to go out and take some picture though….
