Back to the Grind
Today marked the first day back to school for both girls following Spring Break.
Oh, it was fun. Alex got up reasonably well, although was clearly very tired while she trudged through getting ready for school. She made it, however, and on time too!
Phoebe actually got up before Alex did. About an hour and a half earlier than she should be getting up. Ray drover her to school (as usual) and she fell asleep on the way.
I picked Phoebe up from school and we went home. We had lunch, played, picked up some stuff and snuggled a lot. She had brought home the class animal and journal today. The animal was a stuffed Horton the elephant which accompanied the book, Horton Hatches the Egg by Dr. Seuss.

Alex arrived home via the bus and then we went to the optical shop for her to pick out new glasses. Apparently, you need a special prescription to get contacts, so we’ll be calling the eye doctor up tomorrow. Phoebe looked around the optical shop as well and tried on several frames herself. She picked out a lavender colored pair that she really likes and is completely appalled that she neither needs glasses nor will I get her any. This is a child who will hardly wear a pair of sunglasses for longer than five minutes or so!
Although, she did look cute:

The evening saw us watching The Number 23 while Phoebe played. Then, I read her the Horton book, and that was all. Another exciting day at chez moi!
