Saturday…snow?
Today started out with a lot of fun! While Ray and Alex spent a while playing video games (Balder’s Gate, I believe), Phoebe and I headed over to Lowe’s.
Today was one of the “Build and Grow” events aimed at kids (and, I’m sure, getting the parents into the store). Today, they built an ant farm. It was Phoebe’s first time doing this. A few of her friends were there, which made it more exciting to go.
She got to hammer in nails, sand the edges and put it together (with a bunch of help). She is very proud of what she did! And, sadly, since I was helping her, I didn’t get any photos of her actually working on it. In addition to her completed project, she received a certificate, a work apron, and a patch to put on the apron.
This was something that we did with Alex for a while until our schedule didn’t have the space and then she really wasn’t too interested in doing it anymore. You know, in front of other people, because she is too cool for that. You know.
In other news, there isn’t much. A little bit of cleaning up around the house. A trip to the recycling center was thwarted by the rain (lots of cardboard in an open bed pickup).
Alex’s friend called her up in the afternoon inviting her to go roller skating (though she rented Rollerblades). She had a great time despite the giant blister on her instep that she now sports.
That is really about it. An exciting Saturday really. We are all just bummed about the SNOW that the rain turned in to around 10:30 pm or so….
SPRING!!!! WHERE ARE YOU!?!?!?!!?
