Driving
There was once a time in my life when I enjoyed going for a drive. Ray and I (in our young, before kids, and before marriage lives) would go driving. Usually in the country, often on the dirt roads. Sometimes we dropped in on friends or family that we happened to be near. Sometimes we didn’t.
It has been a very long time since I’ve enjoyed driving anywhere. Everything is so rushed these days especially with more than one child in a myriad of activities. Just the shuttling of the kids is enough to quench any desire to drive.
Then there are the obstacles to driving. The fancy new things like “roundabouts” and other drivers. Combine these two and it is very frustrating indeed.
With that in mind, I would like to extend a few words of advice to the people in the blue van who when traversing a double roundabout, attempted to side swipe me in my little car with my children inside. The advice is this: when traversing a two-lane roundabout, STAY IN THE LANE YOU START IN!!!!! Starting on the interior lane does not mean that you move to the outside lane in the middle. There is no willy-nilliness of decision making allowed here. I suppose that during off times (say, 3 AM, for instance) it may be something that can slide by, but certainly not when all lanes are in use and there are many cars behind you, in front of you, and beside you at noon.
It was frustrating. More so since they seemed irate at me.
Oh, and one more thing, use your turn signals when, um, turning and when you want to change lanes on a road!
Last rant of the day: DON’T THROW YOUR RUBBISH AND CIGARETTES OUT YOUR WINDOW!!! Geez. Didn’t your Mama teach you anything? Or, are you just an idiot? Really, I must know.
Something fun? Name the movie quote:
“I must know.”
” Get used to disappointment.”
This ends Tuesday of Spring Break.
