All Girls
Today was far from ordinary. Or, at least it had some deviation.
Ray was home for a vacation day today. Alex has a basketball tournament this weekend and we had anticipated it being further away resulting in a hotel stay. That was not the case, but Ray still had the day off. He made plans to do some maintenance with DataSlab, so he spent the morning doing that (off site).
Phoebe had preschool, so she spent the morning there.
Alex had a regular school day. After school she had a practice for one of her Science Olympiad events. There was no track practice due to the coaches having a prior commitment (grad school).
I spent some time moving some furniture around. Pulling off slip covers and dumping couches and chairs forward (and beating them) to get all the junk out from under the cushions. Underneath one couch, I found one shoe, one slipper, 47 cents, a gum wrapper, two Lego pieces, and of course, some dust.
After I picked Phoebe up from school, we went to the Osh Kosh “temporary warehouse” location and stocked up on some pants and a few other things. Everything in the store was $2.99 (or less). We found some pretty nice things for her. Some fit pretty well now, a few things a bit big, and a couple of things pretty big.
We returned home and I went back to some cleaning. Ray had returned home while I was out and helped me move an old stereo cabinet to another room. Then, a while later, he picked Alex up from her practice. Other than that, he pretty much lived in front of his computer writing code.
Jealous yet? The evening was a little more exciting. Ray stayed home with Phoebe (he worked while she watched Hannah Montana episodes). I took Alex to her three hour basketball practice and then went and met some of my friends at a local bar/grill place. I had a great time chatting with my girlfriends. Although, sloshing a margarita on the table, and myself, probably didn’t look too great!
I left much earlier than anyone else and headed back over to the gym to pick Alex up. After a brief stop at the grocery store, we went home. Alex showered and went to bed while stayed up a bit longer to wash her uniform for tomorrow. (At practice, they wear their uniforms so that they can divide up into colors easily. That, and they get really used to their own people wearing them!)
I know. You are completely jealous and wish your Friday was like this s well. Next Friday will be better though. We’ll all be sleeping in! At least all the girls will.
