What happens when you are late to detention? The very detention you got from being late to a single class too many times?

Apparently, they kick you out. Then, the next day, the principal calls you down to his office (again) and makes you call your Mom to tell her that you will be serving your detention next week, on a half day no less.

Fun. Maybe someone should actually get up and get ready in the morning in a slightly more timely fashion and not miss the bus so much! You know, which makes you have to wait for Mom to get dressed (and grab that all important coffee) to run you all the way in to town and to the school. On time.

Someday, I’ll wake up from my blissful, fairy-tale dreams! Maybe.

Or, maybe not.

I served one detention ever. Also in seventh grade, though it was for, ahem, chewing gum in class and not for being late. (Of ALL the things a kid could do…seriously!)
