On Track
Yesterday was the first day of practice for the junior high track team. Alex decided to go for track this year (first time EVER…and for a girl who always hated to run…).
When I picked her up afterwards, I asked her how track was.
Her reply? “It was a lot of running!”
Well, goodness, I never would have thought that. She seemed to have had a good time at least. No matter what she says about how something went, the real test of how good or bad it was is how much she talks (and talks and talks and talks…) about it. Oh, and how quickly and high-pitched her voice is when she is talking about it.
Yes, it was seemingly endless, high-pitched (for her) chatter. It did end. Eventually.
I’m very proud of her. I tell her often, but I don’t know if she believes me.
Now, if she could only get her homework done and get up and going in the morning without the endless nagging on my part! Then there will be peace and harmony in the universe.
