Sickies
Has Spring made an appointment to appear yet?
Mel has crocuses come up! I have snow on the ground and a driveway of ice.
Ray was sick this past weekend. He’s finally feeling better and his sore throat is almost gone.
Alex has been having a sore throat upon waking, but it had been going away after drinking some fluids. Until yesterday. Her throat was sore all day along with a bad headache. She still got on the bus for her away volleyball game, but ended up on the bench for all three games.
When my alarm went off (and amongst the school closings, hers was not listed), I went and checked on her. She felt VERY hot, but I did not take her temperature. Instead, I gave her some more fluids and some “solubilized ibuprofen” and let her go back to sleep. Last night, she said her throat hurt to swallow, and it still did this morning.
After Ray and Phoebe left this morning (Ray took Phoebe to school on his way to work), I got Alex up and took her to the urgent care center. My main objective was for a strep test. Fortunately, the (rapid) strep was negative, and hopefully, the overnight one will confirm. She does have the beginnings of a sinus infection of which she is prone to. Joy of joys. I believe that she will be fine to go back to school tomorrow. I hope.
I wasn’t feeling well Monday night. Tuesday, mid-day, I crashed hard. Ended up sporting a 102 fever that my “solubilized ibuprofen” only brought back down to 101. I’ve got that sore throat from all the drainage too. But, today I feel much better. Still have that drainage sort throat, but otherwise, I’m doing ok.
Phoebe has been fine. *knock, knock, knocking on wood!* I hope she remains so. I really hope the rest of my family feels better ASAP as well. I hope Spring shows up. And, I send extremely good vibes to a friend who is going through some stuff.
Oh Spring!!! Where are you??
