Volleyball, Chess and Peanuts?
Alex had a volleyball game last night. Although it was about an hour drive away, Phoebe and I went (after skating) to cheer on “our girl” and her team. Alex’s team won the first game 21-18, lost the second 21-18, and won the third 15-12. The other team (they field two teams) won the same order of games, but I haven’t got the scores.
Today, Alex had chess club. They are into tournament play now (tis the season, so I hear). It was a very exciting day as Alex won both games that she played! She couldn’t stop talking about it for such a long time when she got home.
What about the peanuts? Oh, nothing terribly exciting. Or devastating. Alex had to modify an experiment that involved peanuts. She did this tonight with Ray’s help and it involved burning peanuts. Have you smelled burnt peanuts? Granted there are worse smells (skunk, for example), but it was not the best one either. Just in case you wondered, yes, honey roasted peanuts do smell a bit different than dry roasted peanuts when you burn them with a propane torch! She worked on it all evening. The funniest thing was her face! After she would handle the charred, burnt peanuts, she would end up touching her face. She was only slightly cleaner than a coal miner! (I jest. She was not that dirty!)
See? I live such an exciting life.
Tomorrow is the Blog365 Official Day of Rest (being leap day)… so, for tomorrow, Happy Leap Day!
