GO.TO.SLEEP!

Published by at 11:39 PM under Misc.

Or, at least get in your bed and be quiet!

Why oh why cannot children accomplish this task? On their own would be nice too? Okay, okay. I meant to say: Why can MY children not accomplish this task? Ever? (Okay, they do. Sometimes. Like if they are sick!)

Both of my girls are night people. Both of them are “sleep in until Mom flips your mattress over” type of people. (Note: I have never flipped them out of bed, but believe me, I have been truly tempted a few times!)

Who do I blame? Their Dad. (Aka: my husband.) I blame him solely. HE is a night person. He has been for as long as I’ve known him. I am not, although, I tend to stay up way too late for both me and the time I need to get up which is at least two hours before he stumbles out of bed. (Like the run on sentence? I thought you might!) Then I am crabby. ESPECIALLY when Alex ignores her alarm clock (or turns it off instead of choosing “snooze” or just, you know, GETTING UP) and I have to be the human alarm clock and continuously go in there and wake her up (or, I could flip her mattress?).

I’m crabby. I have a headache. The girls are FINALLY asleep. Ray is still up and clicking furiously and typing on his noisy clickity-clackity-clack keyboard. (Yes, in our bedroom. Yes, it should be in the office. However, the office is gutted and awaiting work and money to fix and restore it.)

I must be tired. Lots of parentheses and long, long sentences. I remember when you could set a clock by me. I crashed right close to 10 pm every single night for a very long time. It took very special effort and planning for it to be otherwise. Then I started playing LPMuds (my favorites being TravMud and LustyMud) and all hell broke loose. (That and I changed jobs.)

Anyhow. Seriously. Good night!
