First day of Preschool
Today was Phoebe’s very first day of preschool. She is going Monday & Wednesdays for 2 ½ hours each day to the Little Glad Center Preschool (at Fowlerville Schools). Bonus: next door to Munn where Alex goes. Downer: Alex would get home on the bus at 2:50, but I need to leave BY 2:45 to get Phoebe. So, get there at 2:30, Alex waits for me, then we “hang†until 3.
I have to admit that I felt like crying while I was driving my baby to school. To school!!! She’s 3! Even though I was feeling wonky about it, she had a wonderful time and is very much looking forward to Monday. We went in the room, found her cubby and put her backpack into it. Then I found her name tag and pinned it to her. She hugged me goodbye and happily skipped away. It was such a happy/sad moment for me. My baby.
When I met Alex, we tried to get into the new community ed office to do the basketball sign up, but, (again!) no one was there… no drop box… no nothing! Denied. Again. So we waited in the car and watched Phoebe’s class playing in their little playground. I felt like paparazzi taking pictures from the car window (she never noticed us). The pictures looked like paparazzi since they were grainy from having to zoom them in so much on the computer.
At 3 pm, Miss Penny opened the door and parents (mostly Moms) began entering. Miss Penny would call each child as the respective parent entered. Phoebe ran over to me, looking a bit concerned, then hugged me “Mommmmiiieeee!!!†with the biggest smile! It was all good. She brought home a picture that she colored which we promptly displayed on the fridge door (just at her perfect height).
